Meet the Team at Myrtle Beach Animal Hospital

Mike Kaltsas, Co-Owner, Veterinarian

Dr. Mike Kaltsas
Co-Owner, Veterinarian

Dr. Mike and his wife, Nicole, became the proud new owners of Myrtle Beach Animal Hospital in June 2025. With over 20 years of veterinary experience, they bring a wealth of knowledge, compassion, and dedication to their new community.

Dr. Mike’s core philosophy centers around building strong, family-like relationships with clients and ensuring they never feel like just a number. He believes in open communication, client education, and working together as a team to provide the best possible care for each pet. One of his favorite reminders to new veterinary professionals is: “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.”

His professional interests include soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, exotic animal care (both medical and surgical), and preventative and geriatric medicine. Dr. Mike has also taught internal medicine for several years and is passionate about mentoring interns and staff.

Outside of work, Dr. Mike enjoys fly fishing, brewing his own beer, hiking, kayaking, and spending time with his family and their French Bulldog pups, Mabel and Henry.

Nicole Kaltsas, Co-Owner, Hospital Director

Nicole Kaltsas
Co-Owner, Hospital Director

Nicole has built a career grounded in clinical excellence, operational leadership, and strategic growth. She spent 15 years as Co-Owner and Hospital Director of Stoneledge Animal Hospital in Maine, which she ran alongside her husband, Dr. Mike. Under their leadership, the hospital became a respected fixture in the community, known for its high standard of care and client service.

After transitioning to the veterinary corporate sector, Nicole served as Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships for a mid-size consolidator, where she leveraged her deep industry knowledge and firsthand experience to build meaningful partnerships, drive sustainable growth, and support over 120 veterinary teams across the country.

Now, she’s happy to be back in private practice, co-owning and working alongside her husband once again—this time in the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina area—bringing personalized, high-quality care to the pets and families in their new community.

Outside of work, Nicole loves spending time with her family and pups, gardening, decorating, and home design.
